When Jawaharlal Nehru, the previous leader, passed away, Lal Bahadur Shastri became the new Prime Minister, but unfortunately, he only held this position for a short time of 18 months. During a war in 1965, he achieved success when India won against Pakistan. However, on January 11th, 1966, he had a very serious heart attack and passed away.
